Artist Trading Cards are miniature works of art. We’ll be making cards in the traditional ATC size and adding our own touches with collage, markers and more. You can keep or trade what you make!

Lauren Heather Lay is a visual artist working in a variety of media, particularly textiles. Her inspiration comes from the natural world and from story. Brushes and needles carry much more than paint and thread as they represent the dialogue between what she has seen, remembered, and dreamt. 

Her love of texture and color is frequently at play with whimsy and depth, abstraction and realism, and fragility and strength. Some of her current work involves layering stitches over batik (wax resist) images or dyed fabrics and experimenting with stitched shibori (stitch resist).

Lauren is both a studio artist and an art educator, delighting in sharing her love of art with others. She has a Doctor of Ministry in Arts and Theology from Wesley Theological Seminary. You can learn more about her art at https://lalatextiles.weebly.com
